This is a build I've been planning for for ages. I've been taking notes in my note book that I use for modelling subjects, and slowly I've formed a picture of what this is going to end up like. The kit is the standard Tamiya Yamaha R1 kit bashed together with parts from the Tamiya Ducati 916 and some minor parts from GP bike left overs.
I wanted to do something new with this build, cross some new borders so to speak. I wanted it to look aggressive and really tuned without being pimped. I'll color up the details using other paints than used on the regular kit, I'll go for some sporty red color and see to that this baby gets all the detailing she deserves!

Ohh, this page was growing out of my hands and I had to do something to clean it up! Below you see some links where I gatherd the information in some sort of building diary. Hope you find it useful. Enjoy!

I had some problems in the end of this project. I'm REALLY satisfied with how the exhaust system turned out but I had to cut it into two pieces to get it mounted on the bike. I also had some trouble fitting the side cowls with the top one and in that process I destroyed some of the finish on the cowls wich is a real pitty. This is one of the best shines I've ever achieved.
More I like is the paint scheme that I managed to follow through the whole bike. That gold black red combo is looking great in my opinion. Wave discs and mufflers are other parts that I think give the bike an edge. Hope you like it!
