Found this kit cheap from a Swedish retailer and as I think it looks pretty nice I thought I'd try it out. As you know by now I'm not that into street bikes but sometimes you need a brake from those decal jobs..

Looking through the box I am pretty impressed. The parts come on three trees of wich one is pre-plated with chrome. Second tree holds engine and sub frame parts and the last one gives you the cowling and frame parts. The black plastic of the frame/cowling parts has an interesting metallic black look, and all of the parts are up to regular Tamiya standard.

When looking through the instructions I notice that, besides cowlings and brake discs, there's only two or three parts that need two tone painting. Tamiya have had the good taste to mold the parts so that they can be easily painted and mounted. A+.

.Instructions call for a red/grey, black/grey or yellow black combo on the cowlings. Have to descide upon that..

I don't like pre-plated parts so all the chrome came off with a little halp from oven cleaner. The mufflers look boring so I'll make them flat black or carbon fibre.

I have drilled the brake discs and cut away the molded rivets and washers. This way the parts will be much more easy to paint and the cut away details will be replaced with PE parts. I think that will turn out pretty good.

Engine had a light wash and some of the molded rivets replaced with PE parts.

Exhaust system got a light wash with Tamiya Clear Yellow.

Very small decal sheet. Will hopefully not be any problems.
